The Jewish community’s mobile menorah
The lights of Chanukah reach Japan. Chabad Japan Jewish community , directed by Rabbi Binyamin Edery and Rabbi Yossi Kleiman, offered a wide range of successful programs to theJewish community Tokyo Japan as well as many businessmen who live in Japan on a permanent basis. On the first night of Chanukah, a party was held in one of the most prestigious halls in the city, with 150 in attendance. The party was especially joyous and featured a magician who performed a full repoirtoire of tricks.
The shluchim also went out every evening to visit Jews living in cities near Tokyo: Kawasaki, Yokohoma, Omiya and Saitatama. The Shluchim visited the homes armed with fresh donuts, Chanukah candles and menorahs, and helped many people perform the mitzvah of Chanukah. Even in Japan, no Jew was forgotten…
