Please feel free to share and publicize.\n\n\nDuring the Tsunami\, Rabbi Edery and Chabad Japan staff brought huge amounts of relief to the people of Tohoku. For many months after\, Rabbi Edery initiated many projects of support and assistance to the survivors. This brought hope and good energy to the people.\n\nThe purpose of this exhibit is to remember the people who passed away and to realize the importance of social responsibility. DESCRIPTION:1999年に設立された、初のハバッド・オブ・ジャパン\n  \n明日、2017年1月10日火曜日から48時間の募金キャンペーンを実施いたします。\n  \nハバッド・オブ・ジャパンがこれからも活動を続けるために充分大きなスペースが確保できるよう、ぜひ寄付金をお寄せください。\n  \n  \n\n\n日本人とユダヤ人のかけ橋となる東京の歴史的建造物「マゴメ・ハウス」を救うため目標額に到達できる募金に、みなさまのお力をください\n  \n世界的な建築家による建造物が解体の危機に\n  \n東京の大森山王と馬込を結ぶ場所に、通称「ジャーマン通り」と呼ばれるストリートがあります。ここは1991年までおよそ70年続いたドイツ人の街でした。今でもルーテル教会をはじめその面影が残っています。 \n  \nその馬込の一角に1929年に竣工された通称「マゴメ・ハウス」と呼ばれる洋館があります。 \n  \n旧帝国ホテルの設計者として知られるフランク・ロイド・ライトの弟子でもあった世界的な建築家アントニン・レイモンドの設計によるこの建物は、ドイツ系ユダヤ人商人ローゼンバーグ氏と日本女性の夫妻の住宅として建築されたものでした。 \n  \nレイモンドの手による戸建て住宅としては、おそらく港の見える丘のエリスマン邸（1926竣工）に次ぐ2邸目であり、震災や戦災などを経て現存する、個人住宅として大変希少な物件です。 \n  \nそのマゴメ・ハウスが今、不動産デベロッパーによる解体の危機にさらされています。\n  \n手入れをされていないマゴメ・ハウスが土地と一緒に売りに出されており、入札者であるデベロッパーは利潤を増やすため、おそらく建物を壊して更地にし、土地を区分して再販するものと思われるのです。 \n  \n \n  \n東京在住のユダヤ教ラビが再建に立ち上がる\n  \nこの日本人とユダヤ人にとってゆかりのある歴史的建造物を解体から守り、両民族のかけ橋となる文化センターとして再建しようと立ち上がった人物がおります。1999年に来日して以来、東京に在住し、在日ユダヤ人のみならず、震災などで窮状にさらされた日本人につねに救いの手を差し伸べてきたユダヤ教のラビ（聖職者）、ビンヨミン・Ｙ・エデリー氏です。 \n  \nエデリー氏は、東日本大震災の際、新しい礼拝所建設のために集めていた資金約6000万円をすべて東北の被災者への援助金に使い、それだけでなく、自ら毎週、現地に出向いて焼きいもの炊き出しなどさまざまな奉仕活動を行ってきました。 \n  \nhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j_mYzLu4XWU \n  \nその功労が認められて、エデリー氏は宮城県岩沼市長より感謝状が贈られたほか、2013年には日本政府より永住権が与えられ、2015年には日本政府が公認する日本初の主席ラビに就任しました。 \n  \n新しい拠点を日本人とユダヤ人の文化交流センターに\n  \nエデリー氏は現在、大森にある拠点ハバッドハウスで、在日ユダヤ人や日本人をはじめ、イスラム教徒などさまざまな宗教や立場の人々を温かく迎えるために門戸を開いて、毎週金曜夜の安息日の食事などを無料提供してきました。 \n  \nまた、各種ユダヤ教のお祭りや儀式、また日本人向けのユダヤ教についての勉強会や、コーシャフードの講座などを開講し、ハバッドハウスはすでに、日本人、ユダヤ人、その他あらゆる人々のための交流の場である文化センター的な役割を担ってきました。 \n  \n \n  \nしかし現拠点は築50年の老朽家屋であり、また年々増える訪問者を迎えるには明らかに手狭になっている状況です。 \n  \n1月15日のタイムリミットまでに目標金額の達成へ\n  \n2017年の1月15日までに1億円が集まらなければ、マゴメ・ハウスは不動産デベロッパーの手に渡ってしまうため、緊急にみなさまのお力が必要なのです。 \n  \n少額の寄付でも構いません。タイムリミットまでにぜひこのプロジェクトに協力を賜りたく、何卒よろしくお願いいたします。

We need to raise$1 million dollars for the purchase. \nWhy now? Why the urgency? \nIt is long overdue. A larger space for our activities was needed for a long time. The owner of the property agreed to wait until January 15\, 2017 for the purchase of the property. After that it goes on the market. \nWhat is so unique about this property? \nThis large property was owned by Jewish families for over 100 years. This is unheard of in Japan. The owner \, the wife of a German Jew\, wanted to sell the house only to the Rabbi\, so that he build the Chabad center on this property and continue its Jewish legacy. The house on the property was built over one hundred years ago by a famous Czech-American architect\, Antonin Raymond\, student of Frank Lloyd Wright. \nHow does the campaign work? \nThe moment the campaign is launched\, we will publicize the campaign page. On the campaign page\, there is a timer\, a donation link\, a wall of donors. Each donation is matched by three matchers. Meaning\, each matcher gives an equal amount to every donation that enters from the public. The campaign is ‘’ all or nothing’’ \, meaning if we reach our goal we receive the donations. If not\, we don’t. \nHow do I donate? \nThere is a donation button on the campaign page.
